Hello, this is Mrs. Mitchell-Lewis from Pennycook Elementary school with important information for this week January 16th-23rd.
Remember gates open at 8:15am with breakfast starting at 8:00am. We want every student on-time and present for our morning pledge at 8:25am and in their classrooms by 8:30am. Please also remember to have your child(ren) dress appropriately for the weather including jackets or sweaters with their names in them.
Anyone who needs to pay for school breakfast and/or lunch can do so before school in the MPR or on-line via our school website.

This month is National Mentoring Month. We recognize Vallejo's own Philmore Graham. Philmore Graham loved working in the community and in 1966, after watching six little boys play football, he started what is now known as the Continentals of Omega Boys and Girls Club in Vallejo. According to former Mayor Osby Davis, Graham "was a man who refused to accept limits and refused to let others accept limits. He hated the word 'can't' and had the audacity to believe he could change any child and help anyone. He believed that if you didn't succeed, it meant you didn't persevere."… He gave, gave, and gave some more," … "He gave his time, his love, his money, his home, his car. He gave it all. He kept nothing to himself.
Our lifeskill of the month is Change: Teachers and students will review what change looks like and sounds like.
As always, working together, Pennycook Scholars are learners today and leaders tomorrow.
