International Walk to School Day!

Our Student Leadership members were joined by others as they walked to school in celebration of International Walk to School Day!  All participants received a free water bottle.  It was a nice, community event!

Hello, this Mrs. Mitchell-Lewis from Pennycook Elementary School with important information for the week of October 17th-20th.


The PTA/SSC/ELAC Mtg for Monday, 10/16/17 will be rescheduled.


CELDT Testing will occur this week and next week for our English Learner students.  We are also in the process of conducting our District Wide Assessments.
After school Enrichment Activities forms are available at recess in the foyer.  The classes being offered are painting, art, sign language and music. Students receiving progress reports must attend the after school academic support program before consideration for attendance in the Enrichment Program.  Permission slips for the academic support program will be sent home by your child's classroom teacher.


Our lifeskill of the month is cooperation and teamwork.  Students will learn what it looks like and sounds like to cooperate and work as a team.


Our person of the month is Ellen Ochoa.  Ellen Ochoa, (born May 10, 1958, Los Angeles, California, U.S.), American astronaut and administrator was the first Hispanic woman to travel into space (1993). She later served as director of the Johnson Space Center (2013– ). Ochoa studied electrical engineering at Stanford University, earning a master’s degree (1981) and a doctorate (1985).


As always, working together, Pennycook Scholars are learners today and leaders tomorrow.
