Z Best Fundraiser

The Z Best Dining & Entertainment fundraiser was due November 29th. To date not all of the books have been turned in. Please turn in all unsold book and orders NO LATER THAN Friday, December 2nd. Please return the orders or unsold books to the main office.

Thank you for participating.

Weekly Message from Principal Mitchell-Lewis

Hello, this is Mrs. Mitchell-Lewis, Principal of Pennycook Elementary School with important information for this Week December 5th-9th.

Please return any outstanding booklets from our fundraiser to the office.  We must return what we didn't sell.

PreK and Kinder are on extended day.  Please pick up your students at the 1:30pm end time.  DO not leave students to be picked up at 3:00pm as we do not have the programming to support students during the 1:30pm-3:00pm time.  If you are interested in the GVRD After School Program, please inquire in the office.
District Wide Assessments will occur the next couple of weeks.  We have implemented a test anxiety free zone. Remember assessments are a snapshot of where students are and guide re-teaching, planning and interventions.

The lifeskill of the month is dream.  Students will learn what it looks like and sounds like to turn a dream into a goal.

This month is Universal Human Rights Month. We recognize Malala Yousafzai born in 1997. She defied the Taliban in Pakistan and demanded that girls receive an education.  She went on to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.  She is the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. She said, "My goal was not to get the Nobel Peace Prize; my goal is to get peace and my goal is to see the education of every child".

Remember:  As we venture through our school year of truth in creativity, learning and talent, Pennycook Scholars are learners today and leaders tomorrow.
