Hello Pennycook Parents and Staff,

PTA would like to thank all the parents, children and staff for coming out to join us and making family game night a success . The support this year for PTA has been overwhelmingly great, thanks to all that have joined and all of the volunteers. We encourage more volunteers to help out, anyone can sign up to be a volunteer, please check out our PTA board members mural in the foyer and just ask us (how you can help) we have plenty of projects this year and could use some extra hands. Full community service night was also a great time for the families to come out and learn more about their community and resources. Great job goes to Arnika Nichols our Academic Support Provider.

Family Game Night is 4:30pm-5:30pm and Full Service Community Schools Night is 5:30pm-7:30pm on October 18th. We look forward to seeing you there.

Do you have any slightly used games?  Please donate them to our 4th and 5th grade lunchtime game room.

Our  Annual Halloween Parade will occur on Monday, Oct. 31, a minimum day.  No masks, face paint, blood, weapons nor clown costumes are allowed.  I ask adults to follow the same criteria if you are joining us for the parades.
The lifeskill of the month is Leadership.  Students will continue to learn what it looks like and sounds like to show leadership.

Did you know this month is- National Hispanic Heritage Month? Cesar Chavez was a prominent Mexican American union leader and labor organizer.  He founded the National Farm Workers Association in 1962. Chavez wakks able to secure wage increases and improve conditions for farm workers in California, Texas, Arizona and Florida.  Chavez stressed nonviolent methods yet drew attention to the his causes through boycotts, marches and hunger strikes. Cesar Chavez is a true example of a leader.
Remember:  As we venture through our school year of truth in creativity, learning and talent, Pennycook Scholars are learners today and leaders tomorrow.

Thank you Mayor Davis for visiting our school today. The students and parents enjoyed your visit.
