Family Game Night

Hello Pennycook Parents and Staff,

PTA would like to thank all the parents, children and staff for coming out to join us and making family game night a success . The support this year for PTA has been overwhelmingly great, thanks to all that have joined and all of the volunteers. We encourage more volunteers to help out, anyone can sign up to be a volunteer, please check out our PTA board members mural in the foyer and just ask us (how you can help) we have plenty of projects this year and could use some extra hands. Full community service night was also a great time for the families to come out and learn more about their community and resources. Great job goes to Arnika Nichols our Academic Support Provider.

Thanks,

Amid Brock

Message from the President...

Dear Pennycook Community,

On behalf of the Pennycook PTA, welcome to the 2016/2017 school year! I hope you all had a great summer and are ready to delve into a new school year with high hopes and expectations. As the new PTA President, I just want to reach out to the community and ask for support this year so that we can grow together as families and as a community.

Pennycook’s PTA’s goal is to focus on community-building activities and to provide additional enrichment programs and events for students, parents, and teachers. We are here to welcome and support existing and new families in our community and our focus reflects the fact that we all are an integral part of our children’s educational experiences.

We are an organization of parent volunteers, educators and community members who come together to work for one common cause, our children. PTA provides all parents with an opportunity to participate in the many programs and projects that occur throughout the year. These projects help to positively influence our children’s educational experience. Everyone’s participation is essential. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed. We can match your time constraints and interests to needed tasks. There are endless possibilities in ways you can help. Keep in mind that by volunteering, you will get to enjoy interacting with the kids, become friends with other parents, and accomplish things that truly make a difference. We promise that the time you give to the PTA and the school will be worthwhile and fun. Please consider volunteering, it really does make a difference in the lives of all our children!

The PTA welcomes you to join our meetings to stay informed and contribute your ideas and talents to better our school. More information about our school and meetings can be found on these websites  https://pees-vcusd-ca.schoolloop.com/ and http://www.vallejo.k12.ca.us/.  All meeting dates and activities will be posted regularly on the school marquis.

Again, welcome to Annie Pennycook and I look forward to meeting you.

Warmly,

      Amid Brock President, Pennycook PTA

About Us

PTA

Pennycook Elementary School has a long tradition of active parent involvement. On a daily basis, parents can be found volunteering in classrooms, the school library, the computer lab etc.

Parents are involved in our PTA as well.. The PTA sponsors many school wide events (Dr. Seuss Night, Red Ribbon Week, Book Fairs, Magic Show, Box Tops etc.) and financially supports field trips through yearly stipends to classrooms.

Parents are informed of school activities through our newsletter, The Panda Press, and weekly phone messages. We actively encourage parents to join classes on a wide variety of local and Bay Area field trips that expand and enhance classroom studies.  Pennycook parents support the efforts of teachers to make learning attainable, exciting and preparation for making our students career and college ready.
